It was James first movie ever. He is such a good boy that I thought we didn't need a babysitter. Which we didn't but. The second the previews starts I smell a stinky odor coming from James' diaper. When I went to a non changing table bathroom, and set him on the counter, I realized it was a blow out like no other. Lincoln loves animals and loved seeing them in their habitat. His favorite movie right now is Madagascar and fortunately the animals that sing "I like to move it, move it" was there. The zoo has an elephant show, a bird show and a rhino show and we missed all of them. That's why we get to go again and try to make it one of the shows.

We brought our own lunch and had a picnic.

In the "Move it, move it" part. We can get our Taylor fix whenever we want.

I love going to the farm with Lincoln. I get to hear his belly laugh continuously, when he is feeding the goats. You can tell he is loving life when he is at Thanksgiving Point. We got a pass to Thanksgiving Point and I love every inch of that place.

The farm has so many great things to do. You can feed the goats (Linc's fav), ride horses, wagon rides, milk a statued cow, pet all animals ( the donkey is highly not recommend to pet) and lots more because they always have activities to do. The one thing Dale and I love is that they have Monday Family fun in the barnyard. He is stuck in one spot. Halleliuah!

We got him ABC foams for the bath and that is where I have taught him the letters and the sounds to the letters. My little monkey knows it all letters and sounds. He's my little sponge. Linc doesn't even know he is learning. He has fun with it by sticking it to the wall and the tub.

We are now working on the first letter to words. It's really fun to see him grow. He can play the same game over and over again for hours. So, I came up with Board Game Olympics.

You set up board games in all of the rooms. Then you carry around a timer and then set it to the time that you have able to spent with your child. For example, I only had an hour to play and had 4 games set up. That makes it 15 minutes a game. Next you play the game and at 15 minutes whoever is winning at the time is the winner and won that game. Lastly, whoever won the most games wins a prize. Like, picking out your own lunch or having Mom clean your mess for you. Or you can buy prizes they picked out at the dollar store. (It all depends on if you want more garbage toys in your play room or if you want to analyze new ways for your kid to help out around the house).

Lincoln thinks this is a HIT!!!

Homemade Musical Instruments

Okay, for those of you who know me, know very well on how I feel about where children should play musical instruments, far far away from me. They say it every morning to the flag. I thought it was such a great idea to help my child become more patriotic. It's been really fun to say and teach him on the drives that we take. We turn the radio down and he repeats it to me until he is ready to be done practicing. The one thing I have noticed since we have done this, is how many flags there are flying around. Now that he knows all of the words, he says it everytime he sees a new flag and says, "I pledge allegiance to that flag". It is simply adorable. We now count how many flags we find on the way to wherever we are going. Thank you Badger Family for the flag that hangs in his room.
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v8.nonxt2.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Da5082f9548a5d903%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331380089%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3DAE5F06FBC1F2D8E877F86621B9D2723F7FA7E85.6F2358BFF645862B60FDF3AF1B0DAD610177FCC8%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Da5082f9548a5d903%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3D5YFXuMoy0CptZJll4Wyd0qr7Lnk&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Pizza Fun

My mom saw on a talk show that you can make pizza with your kids as a fun activity together. I thought Lincoln would really enjoy this and so I got all the ingredients at my next outing to the grocery store. My son loves HAM. loves loves loves ham. He would eat ham and crackers for lunch and dinner every day if we let him. So, as our toppings I got ham and pineapple.

For the crust I just get ready made Pillsbury pizza dough and yummy ready made tomato and basil sauce. I let him unroll the dough and spread the sauce.

Then I let him put as much cheese as he wanted. (Next time I will get the right cheese)

Next was the ham....can you tell he loves ham. I want to challenge myself to constantly have fun with my kids. So, here is my challenge and my new blog. I will post all the things I do with my children. From the homemade activities, to the fun new field trips I go on, and how I capture and savor the moments spent. I will also, give you feedback of the results of the activities of what things I would do different and what things I loved most.

The one thing I learned as a new Mom is that my kids will remember how I spent the time I had with them. If it will be cleaning all the time and having them entertain themselves, or if I had fun with them. Not saying that I don't think a clean environment and chores are not an important part of raising great children, but it's not the most important part. I constantly have to remind myself of that.

I get my ideas from researching new activities from the Internet, friends, family and from books of ideas to keep kids busy. It takes a lot of time to find the good activities I want to teach my children. What better way to share it with all of you than a blog, so we can all have the happiest kids on the block.

Please give me feedback about any ideas or opinions you may have about this blog. I love to take ideas and mold my parenting skills to be the best parent I can be. And please ENJOY the results of the journey!
